The biggest secret to becoming a published writer is to find a market and supply it with what it wants. I often buy a magazine I’ve never looked at before and go through it, page by page, to see if there are any slots to write for. There are plenty of opportunities out there for new and experienced writers. In the tabloid magazines these are easy to spot. Somewhere on the page it will say, ‘£x paid for your story’.
