BRYAN FERRY
MAMOUNA
BMG
★★★★
That Bryan Ferry’s 1994 album is newly expanded into a 3CD/2LP set shouldn’t be a big deal. However, marking 50 years since solo debut These Foolish Things, Mamouna is the first ever expanded edition, of either Roxy Music or Ferry’s solo work.
It’s also been done to finally release Horoscope, the album Bryan abandoned halfway in the seven-year gap between Bête Noire and Mamouna. Famously, Ferry had writers’ block, ditching Horoscope to instead make covers album Taxi as a stopgap.
