Level 42’s twilight phase is inevitably overlooked compared with their 80s heyday, a far more prolific period in which they established themselves as Britain’s premier jazz-funk fusion outfit. The Isle Of Wighters recorded just two albums in the following decade, before an initial split in 1994. But this comprehensive 7CD collection proves there was still life left in the old slap-bass.
