Classic.Retro.Modern. Magazine

6 issues per year   |  English

From £3.33 per issue
Classic.Retro.Modern. is the start of something special. A new monthly magazine focusing on established, emerging and modern classics. The cars of the 1960s, ’70s, ’80s, ’90s and ’00s might be familiar, but the stories we tell will be anything but. Classic.Retro.Modern. isn’t here to fit in.

Every month, our readers can expect superb writing, great photography, quality print, excellent design, and an ability to think differently. The cars will be accessible, attainable, and relevant. Our mix will be eclectic. Discover the joys of owning a Reliant Regal before turning over to read about why you should be considering a Volkswagen Golf GTI Mk 5. The Jaguar E-Type rubbing shoulders with the Vauxhall Calibra. The Mini 1275 GT sharing space with the Fiat Panda Mk1.

Classic.Retro.Modern. is fresh enough to appeal to young drivers taking their first tentative steps in the world of classic cars. Established to appeal to knowledgeable enthusiasts who have seen (and read) it all. The magazine will be as at home on a coffee table as it is at a local ‘cars and coffee’ event.

On-sale monthly, it’s packed with classic cars. Regulars such as buying guides, reader restorations and news will be accompanied by drive stories and features designed to excite, inform, and enthuse. Classic.Retro.Modern. will be printed on high-quality paper and filled with great photography and superb design.

The team has a long and successful track record, consisting of Ian Robertson as Publisher, Richard Dredge in as Editor and Gavin Braithwaite-Smith taking the role of Deputy Editor, alongside other well-respected contributors. And that’s all backed up by a group of incredibly talented classic car nuts that look after the design, website and behind the scenes, it’s very much a case that we’ve assembled our dream team.

Classic.Retro.Modern. Magazine

March/April 2025 Did you know there are 33 species of seals? Neither did we, but we thought you’d appreciate this ‘fun fact’. And guess what? It’s number 33. Who’d a thought it? While lacking in walrus, bearded seal or sea lion content – or indeed a kiss from a rose – it does have the small but mighty Suzuki SC100 on the cover. You’d be, ahem, Crazy to miss out on this Killer content. The Whizz Kid is the smallest car to grace our cover and, whisper this, it’s also one of our favourites. Don’t say it too loudly: there’s not a lot of space inside the Suzuki for an inflated ego. Elsewhere, Tim Pitt enjoys an exclusive drive in the Mythron Cars Healey, Rich Duisberg sends a postcard from New York and a love letter to the AMC Pacer, while Neil Birkitt makes his Classic.Retro.Modern. debut by profiling the Volkswagen 411/412. And if you’re looking to employ the services of an Escort in 2025, Richard Dredge gives it to you straight to ensure you don’t drive home with a dud. If that’s not enough, we pick some of our favourite 4x4s of the 1980s, break out the Grey Poupon by lauding (and lording?) the Rolls-Royce Silver Seraph, and take a brief look at the MG Midget that might have been. Just a minute, there’s even a photo of Nicholas Parsons with a Sierra XR4x4. The host of a game show that focused on bargain prices is an opportunity for us to thank you for spending your hard-earned cash on our mag. We know there are many other things battling for your pennies – including other classic car mags – so we appreciate your faith in our bi-monthly publication. Enjoy the new issue.

It's a work of art

Look forward to every issue. It's beautiful, finely crafted and I love the old adverts in between. I can't wait until every issue arrives. Reviewed 29 April 2022
