Q This isn’t a problem as such, but I hope you’ll have an answer to my question anyway. I’ve noticed that whenever I drive anywhere, Google Maps shows me where I’ve parked. This has been useful on a couple of occasions, so I’m not complaining, but I’m curious to know how it works. I don’t remember setting this up, although I do use Google Maps on my iPhone for directions when driving. I’ve looked through the app’s settings, but I find them confusing.

A Google Maps is one of those apps that’s both incredibly useful and horribly messy, so we don’t blame you for getting lost in its settings.
To find the option you’re looking for, first tap your user icon (or initial) at the top right of the Google Maps app, then Settings. Next, under the Getting Around heading, tap Navigation (see screenshot 1 ).
Finally, swipe down to the Parking section and, once there, tap the ‘Save parking location’ slider 2 to its On or Off position, depending on what you want.
