Q In 2019, I bought a Dell XPS 8930 desktop PC with an Intel Core i7 processor and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 6GB graphics card (pictured right and below). I kept my ViewSonic VP2365 24in monitor, which has a 1920x1080-pixel resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate, because it worked perfectly well.
Recently, however, it has caused a few problems with various office and design tasks, so I thought I’d replace it with a new 24in 1920x1080-pixel monitor. As most of these monitors seem to have refresh rates of around 100Hz, will my graphics card be able to keep up, or will I need to upgrade that too?

A The RTX 2060 actually supports much faster refresh rates than 100Hz – it can manage up to 240Hz through its HDMI 2.0 or DisplayPort outputs. Realistically, though, at least for gaming, the card probably wouldn’t be able to deliver a quick enough frame rate (measured in frames per second, fps) for you to benefit from this high-end refresh rate. So the simple answer to your question is yes, your existing card will happily work with a 100Hz monitor or higher.
Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 2060 graphics card will have no trouble working with a 100Hz monitor
