Is Microsoft capping my download speed?
Q I have stable broadband speeds of around 40Mbps, though I’ll soon be getting full fibre. I also have a fairly powerful PC, which I mainly use for Microsoft Flight Simulator.
For various reasons I sometimes have to uninstall and reinstall this program, which always takes hours because downloads seem to be capped at less than 10MB/s (see screenshot right). Can I find out where the UK servers are and, if speeds are restricted, what the limit is and why?
