At £350, Chinese manufacturer Huawei’s new MatePad 11.5 is priced to compete with Apple’s £329 iPad. However, the MatePad has a slightly larger screen and a unique paper-like surface that’s very different to the smooth glass finishes found on your typical tablet. This is non-reflective, so it’s easier to see everything in brightly lit conditions, and it has a light ‘PaperMatte’ texture that emulates a pen-to-paper feel effortlessly when drawing or writing with the included Huawei M-Pencil (£130 if sold separately).
