Camera tech Battery life
Keep your energy levels up and shoot all night long
Long exposures on a cold night are a surefire way to deplete the battery, so having a spare is recommended. Another option is to connect the camera to a suitable power bank and compatible cable. Depending on the model, this can keep the camera powered up while shooting and charge the battery when switched off. Check the instructions and see if in-body recharging is possible; third-party battery cells are not always suitable. If not, as some cameras are quite demanding, you will need a power bank. The Canon EO5 R5 needs 45W of power delivery and a USB C PD (power delivery) cable to run the camera.
