This year saw the 80th anniversary of D-Day, the largest amphibious invasion in history. It formed part of Operation Overlord, the invasion of northern France in the summer of 1944. Our project this month is to recreate a scene after the initial landings when German Waffen-SS tank divisions were dispatched to prevent the Allies from breaking out from the beachheads.
