Jon Watts: “I think about scenes from Pee-wee’s Big Adventure all the time. I named my dog after Dottie, from when Pee-wee is saying, ‘I like you, Dottie! LIKE!’ You know, you get a puppy, you’re never sure what they’re going to grow up to be. So I wanted to pick a name that would always make me laugh, just in case she was really bad. But she’s just turned one, and she’s really sweet.”
