SHARK TALE
So, Jaws’ 50th anniversary [Cover story, issue #440]. When I was at primary school I had a teacher, Mrs Major, who had family living in America, and every year in the summer holidays she would go and visit them. One year, she came back and showed us the photos she’d taken while visiting Martha’s Vineyard of a film crew and a rubber shark on the beach on a rig/trailer. My mind was blown when Jaws was released! I always wonder what happened to those photos and if her family realised what a piece of cinematic history they were.
