NORTH WALES CRUSADERS coach Carl Forster will use this weekend wisely as he is forced to wait before starting the league season.
The Colwyn Bay side have a bye as the other eight League One teams get the competition under way, with their first opponents Cornwall (away on Sunday week, March 24) facing a trip to Keighley.
"It's not ideal that we have the bye in week one, but it's a nine-team competition, so it is what it is," said Forster.
"That is something that is not under our control and, ultimately, having a nine-team competition is better than an eight-team one.
"It just gives us another week to get things right and it means we can have a look at Cornwall.
"They've not had any friendlies, only a Challenge Cup tie, so at least we can check them out again and see what they have to offer."
