Say hello to…
macOS Ventura
Extensive updates for the Mac
T he next major version of macOS was shown off at WWDC. Named macOS Ventura, the operating system comes with a range of new features and updates spanning app updates, security features, gaming, and much more.
We’ll start with a new feature called Continuity Camera. Instead of using an inferior webcam, macOS Ventura now lets you use your iPhone thanks to Continuity Camera. Just place your iPhone in a holder on your Mac’s screen and macOS automatically detects it. It can use Portrait mode, Centre Stage and, if it has an Ultra Wide camera, it can even record you and your desk simultaneously with Desk View.
Apple has also expanded Spotlight’s capabilities, letting you start timers and shortcuts from within the Spotlight window, and showing richer search results that use the whole Spotlight window. You can also preview files by pressing the Space bar. It now shows images from your device and the web, too.
