VERDICT
A well-made and flexible charger with plenty of juice and four ports for longer multi-device charging.
★★★★☆
+Fast with 1 or 2 devices
-Slower with all 4 connected
GaN technology allows chargers to deliver lots of power from a small device, and Apple is rumoured to be adopting it. This compact charger weighs just 245g and has three USB-C ports and one USB-A port with a total of 100W of power. With one device connected, the first two USB-C ports can deliver 100W and the second USB-C and the USB-A can provide 22.5W.
With two devices in the higher powered ports, they split 65W/30W and with all four ports in use, the split is 45W, 30W and 2.1A across the lower two ports.
Charging a recent Mac laptop at 100W is faster than most of Apple’s own chargers, save for the very top end 140W USB-C model. Connecting a MacBook and an iPad to the first and third ports respectively will give you 65W and 22.5W simultaneous charge, which will charge both in a reasonable time.
The 100W splits across the 4 ports depending on your connections.
With all four ports in use, two laptops will get a somewhat slower charge and two phones a trickle charge. The charger offers a good balance of quick charging for single devices or decent charging for two or three, especially if you plan to leave them on charge for a while.
