A DAY of good fun and sportsmanship ended in police being called when a young woman from Iona was cautioned for allegedly taking a car without the permission and crashing it into another car causing damage.
It is the first crime of its type on the holy island that anyone The Oban Times spoke to can remember. Police Scotland confirmed it had no knowledge of any previous car crime on the island.
Police Scotland said a luxury pick-up car was taken from the top of the jetty, in the village centre, and was found close to where it had been parked, with the damage visible on the car.
