THE HIGHLAND Council has confirmed it will sustain its current funding for Additional Support Needs (ASN) in primary and secondary schools, but some parents are still concerned.
Despite taking measures to address a £40m budget gap, the council has said funding for the 2016/17 school year will remain unchanged.
In February this year the council said it would make savings from voluntary redundancies and a spokesman said: ‘Voluntary redundancies have been agreed with managers in additional support services. The allocation to schools will continue at the current level and there will be no reduction in the overall number of pupil support assistants.
