THE NUMBER of school leavers in the Western Isles going on to positive destinations of work, training or study is higher than any other local authority area in Scotland.
Alasdair Allan, SNP MSP for Na h’Eileanan an Iar, has welcomed new figures showing that 97 per cent of students in the Western Isles moved on to employment or further training or education in 2014/15.
This is an improvement on the figure for 2010/2011 which was still high at 92 per cent.
