CAOL piper Brighde Chaimbeul won the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award in London last week.
The 17-year-old beat three other finalists at the ceremony in the Royal Albert Hall on Wednesday April 27.
‘One of the defining moments of the awards was Brighde’s acceptance speech,’ her proud father, the writer, broadcaster and actor Aonghas Phàdraig Chaimbeul from South Uist, said: ‘If you blinked you might have missed it.’
