Spean residents’ growing concern over Telford Bridge safety

THERE are growing concerns among Spean Bridge residents over the safety of the Telford Bridge.

A meeting of Spean Bridge, Roy Bridge and Achnacarry Community Council on Tuesday night heard the bridge carries a heavy flow of traffic over the River Spean and onto the A82 to Inverness and residents continue to be worried about the potential danger to people crossing the bridge.

Chairman of Spean Bridge, Roy Bridge and Achnacarry community council John Fotheringhman told The Oban Times: ‘Elderly and young resi dents are concerned about the traffic on the bridge.’
