When it comes to working out, a lot of us prefer having a workout buddy around. Someone to help us push that little bit harder, or simply to keep us company.
As we move into February, a workout chum may be even more essential – the buzz of the New Year is wearing thin and your resolution to keep fit might be proving difficult. Plus, with Valentine’s Day just around the corner, there’s truly no better time to partner up; grab your beloved human and get moving together.
ARE COUPLES WORKOUTS THE WAY FORWARD?
Research has shown that working out with a partner can be much more efective than working out alone. One study I read recently stated that 95 per cent of those who started a weight-loss programme with friends completed the programme, compared to a 76 per cent rate of completion for those going at it alone. Not only were the chances of completing it higher but the friend’s group were also 42 percent more likely to maintain their weight loss results.
