CAPCOM’S GREATEST FIGHTING GAMES
THE STR EET WRITER
CAPCOM BRND MANAGER MATT EDWARDS REFLECTS ON SOME PERSONAL FAVOURITE FIGHTERS
Why do you think Capcom was able to offer such a diverse range of fighting games in the Nineties?
Even back in the Nineties, Capcom had multiple development teams working on a wide range of titles. That’s as true today as it was back then. But the dif ference bet ween then and now is how front-and-centre fighting games were. The most bonkers year for me is 1998. Street Fighter Alpha 3, Marvel Vs Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Plasma Sword: Nightmare Of Bilstein and Tech Romancer. How Capcom was able to juggle this many projects simultaneously is a testament to the highly talented development staff they had under their roof during this rapidly evolving era of the gaming industry.
