EDITOR'S LETTER
Hello from the editor
How are you all? Having some fun I hope. After what seems like an eternity of life in elasticated waistbands, I have been relishing the opportunity to frock up and once again enjoy a few of the perks of being the editor of Britain's bestselling subscription magazine.
First up was a preview screening of the much anticipated second Downton Abbey film, Downton: A New Era, featuring our cover star Jim Carter who famously plays Carson, the curmudgeonly butler with a heart of gold. It was two hours of pure escapism and I can say, hand on heart, there wasn't a dry eye in the house at the end -mostly because there was only me and the equally moist-eyed security guard in the screening room! A watertight non-disclosure agreement means I can't reveal anything about the plot until the film's release at the end of the month. Suffice to say, Jim once again played his role to perfection. He was equally brilliant, and a lot more jovial, at our cover shoot and in our interview (page 26).
