IN MY EXPERIENCE ...
She has a new cookery book out -and says writing it nearly ended her marriage -but the TV host tells Danny Scott she's no domestic goddess

You and your TV producer husband Ludo have been together for more than 30 years.
Did you always know he was 'The One'?
Our families were friends and the first time I saw him was at my grandad's birthday party. I was 16, Ludo was 24 and, understandably, he ignored me completely. But I like a challenge and said to myself, 'One day, he will be mine'. We didn't properly meet until I was 21 and I asked him if he could help me get a job in telly. He was useless at getting me a job, but a brilliant kisser.
Is there a secret to a happy 30-year marriage?
Even if there is a secret, we've been together so long that I've probably forgotten it!
Wales has been your home for 14 years. Do you ever miss London?
Are you joking? Waking up every morning with some grumpy idiot in a white van revving his engine outside my kitchen window? The main reason we moved to Wales was because of my increasing intolerance to London life. I grew up in the country, I don't like cities. After Ludo was offered a job in Cardiff, we thought about renting a place down here, but, in the end, we said, 'Let's sell up and move'. Getting this house was the best thing that's ever happened to us. Every time I open my front door and take the dogs for a walk, I feel like the luckiest person in the universe.
