Walking
the
Dog
with
Emily
Dean
Emily Dean has many strings to her bow; author, co-host of Frank Skinner's radio show, and Saga beauty columnist to name but a few. In her delightful podcast series, Emily takes a stroll with her Shih Tzu, Raymond, and invites a celebrity and their dog to join them.
From Jeremy Paxman to Shirley Ballas and Rob Brydon there's a huge back catalogue of interesting guests for a binge listen. The format works surprisingly well -there are occasional interjections when other dog walkers say hello and intermittent kerfuffles such as when Paxman's dog Derek takes a dislike to a skateboarder, but that only adds to the gentle charm.
Guests appear at ease as they ramble through a park or across fields with Emily. Some even seem to forget a microphone's attached. Emily's questions are perceptive and she has a natural warmth and oodles of charm which you sense the guests responding to. The perfect accompaniment for your own dog walk.

Tonight with Andrew Marr LBC
Andrew Marr left the BBC promising that he would 'get his voice back' and 'speak his mind' with a move to a new nightly political show on LBC. It was an intriguing prospect. Free from the shackles of BBC impartiality, would the previously urbane presenter transform into a spittle-flecked shock jock?
