Highland Council is awaiting planning approval for proposals to turn its former Fort William office building, Lochaber House, into flats. the council plans to convert the existing office space on the first, second and third floors of the office block into 15 residential flats.
Lochaber House, which adjoins the recently renovated Tweedale buildings on the town’s High Street, has been closed since May following the relocation of council departments to the new Charles Kennedy Building.
The new council building at the former secondary school opposite West End car park on Achintore Road was named after former MP for Ross, Skye and Lochaber, Charles Kennedy, who died in 2015.
