Mallaig hosted Glenelg in the penultimate home league game of the season and ended up with a fine 5-1 win under their belts Glenelg took the lead when their forward was allowed to turn in the box and fire a low shot past Mallaig keeper Johnston. Mallaig got their equaliser through Marius Stoian with a well-struck free kick low into the bottom corner of the net. Mallaig continued to push for the second goal and they went ahead through Marius once again. A lovely cross from Ross Douglas made its way all the way to the back post and there was Marius to smash a low shot past the goalie to make it 2-1. It didn’t take the home side too long to get the third goal and it was a hat-trick for Marius Stoian with yet another fine free kick that Thew past the goalie high into the net. The fourth goal was a cracker, a great strike by Gordy Jamieson from the edge of the box into the top right corner of the net. Mallaig got their fifth not long after. Despite not having much joy in front of goal himself it was a second assist of the game for Ross Douglas. He played through to Cameron Muir, who controlled the ball before lifting it over the Glenelg keeper to make the final score 5-1. In their final league game of the season Mallaig defeated Portree 35-0. Credit to the young island side who travelled with only nine players.
