Staff and volunteers from Caol-based Lochaber Sensory Care (LSC) for sight and hearing support will be visiting Mallaig Medical Centre between 1.30pm and 3pm on Tuesday September 4. The LSC team will offer support and advice to those with a sight or hearing loss. They will also retube and maintain hearing aids, including supplying NHS batteries as required. No appointment is necessary.
Lochaber Music for All is holding its annual general meeting on Wednesday September 5 at 7.30pm in Spean Bridge Primary School. Lochaber Local History Society welcomes back local historian Iain Rose, who will talk on ‘Living in the Highlands 1740’ at 8pm on Thursday September 6, at the Ben Nevis Hotel. Everyone welcome. Iain will offer a picture of life about Fort William nearly 300 years ago.
This winter, talks will include Iron Age burials, cup marks, new pictures of the construction of the Mallaig line and a debate on where the standard was raised at Glenfinnan.
