NHS Highland has thanked the communities of Lochaber for their continued engagement in the current health and social care re-design. A recent workshop to formally make the strategic case to replace the Belford Hospital was attended by more than 100 representatives from local communities, voluntary and third sector organisations, elected officials and NHS Highland Staff. Deputy director of operations for NHS Highland’s north and west division Tracy Ligema said: ‘Due to the fantastic efforts of everyone in attendance, a strategic assessment has been drafted and will be shared for review over the coming weeks. This would not have been possible without feedback from attendees and their input is greatly appreciated. We would ask for their continued support and engagement through the re-design of health and social care services in Lochaber, including our endeavours to recruit Staff to the area.’
