This Mum Runs
The women’s running community, founded in 2014, is dedicated to encouraging women to run. To enable them to do that, it launched its own line of insanely popular running apparel

Plenty of running communities sell merchandise as a side hustle: a way for members to feel connected, and also a method of drumming up funds to support their efforts. Where This Mum Runs is different is that its clothing can stand happily shoulder-to-shoulder with big-name running brands and – in many cases – way ahead. I mean, this stuff is good.
The beginnings of the apparel line were suitably humble: a simple tee to foster a spirit of community. But that was five years ago. Today, everything is different. I spoke to founder Mel Bound to find out more.
Back, then, she explains, TMR had grown to about 1,000 members. “There was a thread on one of our groups where some people were asking, how do we recognise each other when we’re out running?” she explains. “At the time, we didn’t have the brand. The husband of one of our runners knocked us up a logo, and I found a local screen printer, and we just sold them from there.”
