Creative writing exercises to diffuse stress

The National Stress Awareness Day is coming up in November. According to the Mental Health Foundation, three quarters of UK adults have felt under so much mental or emotional pressure in the last year that they have found it difficult to cope, and that doesn’t seem surprising when our personal issues are playing out against a backdrop of global problems such as coronavirus and climate change.
Writing is a great way to de-stress because it is what psychologists call a ‘flow activity’ – when we’re writing, we get caught up in it and stop thinking about anything else. So, take a break from the stresses and strains with this month’s free-range writing.
