Renard Press is a new, independent publisher of classic and contemporary titles.
‘We think it’s important to read widely, so our publishing schedule is like any diet should be – varied!’ said publisher Will Dady. ‘We’re a hybrid publisher, in that we have a large classics list alongside our contemporary titles, so really we’re best described as a publisher of classic and contemporary fiction, non-fiction, theatre and poetry. Since we’re quite new, the list is growing in scope as well as depth, so our only real stipulation is that the books we publish are good writing, well edited.’
Renard Press set up in April 2020 ‘Yes, really,’ said Will. ‘Our first classic titles came out in the summer, with the first contemporary titles appearing from April 2021. The press is very much my answer to what I think publishing should be. As an editor and designer that has worked in the indie world for some time, I wanted to launch a publishing house that had accessibility, diversity and inclusivity very much baked in, producing beautifully produced and designed volumes. As a queerled publisher, we feel it’s very important to publish from the margins, as it were, so we are actively curating a list that is more representative than lists traditionally have been.’
