Premium and qualifying customers from Airlink on both its regional and domestic rotations now have new lounge availability. This came after the South African-based airline signed an access agreement with SLOW Lounges in early August, with facilities now available at Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg. They feature amenities such as private rooms, unlimited Wi-Fi and a range of luxury snacks, light meals, canapes and desserts. Rodger Foster, CEO and managing director of Airlink, commented: “We are very excited to partner with SLOW, as it offers our customers a unique value proposition and a memorable experience as they embark on their journey with Airlink.”
Etihad Airways plans to boost the frequency of its Abu Dhabi to New York/John F Kennedy connection this winter. As a result, the UAE flag carrier is scheduled to add four weekly rotations from November 15, increasing the total number of services to the Big Apple to 11-times weekly. The new flights – EY 103/102 – will be operated by the carrier’s 30-strong fleet of Boeing 787- 9s (pictured) on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. They will complement Etihad’s existing daily links – EY 101/EY 100 – flown by Airbus A350- 1000s (see Africa/Middle East News, September 2022). The move comes so that the airline can provide “more choice and flexibility” to passengers.
