RUSSIAN MANUFACTURERS could supply domestic airlines and operators with more than 1,000 aircraft by 2030 as the country continues to struggle under economic sanctions imposed by the US and Europe following its invasion of Ukraine earlier this year.
Speaking with the TASS news agency at the St Petersburg International Economic Forum in early August, Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov said that indigenous manufacturers “can supply more than 1,000 civil aircraft… concurrently substituting foreign-made components for Russian ones and overhauling production where necessary.”
