In the yogi-promised land, it’s seemingly so simple, yet so difficult to pull off. But with some dedication, practice, plus tips from a pro, you too can perform a crowdpleasing headstand. ‘It’s all about core strength and control, plus it works your shoulders, upper back, triceps, biceps and deltoids, as well as deep core muscles,’ says yoga instructor Libby Limon (libbylimon.com). ‘It’s not something you can master overnight – you need to build up to it – and practising things like high and low planks daily will help. Using a wall isn’t useful, though, as it doesn’t help with technique, encouraging you to use momentum rather than balance and strength to get up.’
