Fancy A CUPPA?

Brain boosting and great with a biscuit

If you’re anything like us, reaching for your morning cuppa is done in a bid to get the gears grinding rather than as a particularly healthconscious decision. But new studies have found a host of health benefits attributed to our morning brew. Polyphenols, the natural plant compounds found in tea, helped study participants lose weight, even when on a diet high in sugar and fat. Two cups of tea a day were found to lower the risk of cognitive decline by 30 per cent. Other research shows a strong link between regular tea consumption and reduced risk of osteoporosis. A recent Chinese study also found that a humble cuppa sparks an instant burst of brainpower and creativity, caused by its mood-boosting properties – we won’t argue with that. Stick the kettle on.
