Rejuvenating UK brownfield sites
A 2020 report from countryside protection group CPRE has identified over 25,000 hectares of brownfield land across 21,000 sites in the UK – enough to fit over 1 million homes. Consulting firm Aecom found that previously-developed land across London, alone, could unlock as many as 400,000 new homes in the capital, all within walkingdistance of a prominent town centre.
