Though Heart’s Ann Wilson recorded her third solo album in Nashville, don’t expect a country vibe. Its cover’s by Roger Dean, too, but don’t expect anything that sounds like Yes. Admittedly, the dramatic Gladiator sounds like mid-80s Marillion working up a heavy sweat, but there’s no doubt that this is a classic rock album, even if ‘classic’ is arguably a generous epithet.
