“Whatever happened to our heroes?” James Atkin asks on Go Go Sapiens’s highlight, Equilibrium, over a busy, 1990s-era breakbeat. It’s a good question. Last widely seen covering The Monkees with Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer in 1995 – their only release to match the success of 1990’s advertisement-popular anthem Unbelievable – EMF nonetheless crowdfunded this fourth album, so there are definitely folk eager to see their return stretch beyond the festival appearances of recent years.
