Can I unplug my PC from the mains during hibernation and reopen it in the state I left it?
Q Now that the Government has removed my winter fuel payment, I’m having to watch every penny even more closely. I have an ageing Windows 10 desktop PC that I tend to put into hibernation overnight rather than shutting down. I prefer this because it starts up a bit faster from hibernation the next day. Can I switch off the mains power while it’s in this state, or do I have to perform a full shutdown before switching off at the mains?
