I’ve always regarded the Memories feature in Google Photos with a warm feeling of nostalgic delight. Its slideshows of relaxing holidays, beloved pets and old friends have been welcome reminders of times gone by.
That changed the other day when the Memories carousel displayed an embarrassing photo of me wearing a white vest. I can’t recall taking this selfie, nor of sporting the mystery undershirt while scowling at the camera. But Google Photos clearly deemed the moment memorable enough to bring it up now with the caption ‘8 years since… [you looked silly in a vest]’.
