Managers finish early on Fridays too
Finishing early on Fridays is nothing new, and certainly has nothing to do with remote working as Virgin Media seems to think (Issue 717, page 9). I remember sitting in the back of my father’s car on sales trips as a young boy, and him explaining to me that Friday was ‘Poets Day’. He translated that as ‘Push off early, tomorrow’s Saturday’. It was only when I entered the workplace 15 years later that I realised ‘Push’ was usually replaced with a stronger word!
