After the acclaim surrounding 2009’s The Liberty Of Norton Folgate, Madness’ follow-up was somewhat in its shadow when released three years later. An overlooked treasure, every band member seems relaxed and assured, a confidence hinted at by titling the first single My Girl 2. How Can I Tell You is vintage Nutty yearning in particular. As with its predecessor, the new vinyl edition adds seven bonus tracks, with 1978 and Big Time Sister especially worth dusting down. A shame that Peter Blake phoned in the artwork, mind.
