Prince scored his first ever UK No.1 album on 21 May with Lovesexy. The record, Prince’s 10th, caused controversy from the get-go, with its provocative cover image (by fashion photographer Jean-Baptiste Mondino) featuring the singer in his birthday suit with his hand rested erotically on his chest. Some stores refused to stock it or wrapped the album in black paper.
