ne of the reasons why Apple devices tend to appeal to people with disabilities is the company’s commitment to accessibility, and macOS Tahoe and iOS 26 add yet more great features to Apple’s dedicated Accessibility section. Often, if you have some kind of impairment, it’s common to see an unofficial ‘disability tax’, where an item costs more because it’s aimed at a niche audience. Examples include thumpers (tactile subwoofers, bass shakers, or haptic vests) for the deaf so they can feel a phone ring, or ‘smart’ canes with GPS and artificial intelligence (AI) object detection for blind people.
