IN THE FOUR years since their Devoid Of Light debut, Portland’s Uada have become one of the most charged lightning rods on the black metal landscape. Some have dismissed them as scene hijackers, while others have found themselves stunned by the emotive, questing nature of their live shows and first two albums, tapping into a wellspring of twilit melody that’s elevated them to the point where they can see beyond black metal’s traditional borders to the fertile realms just beyond.
