Driver banned for a year and fi ned

A 35-YEAR-OLD man has been banned from the road for 12 months and fined £700 for drink driving and driving without insurance.

Valentin Matvievici, of Wilton Villa, Breadalbane Street, Tobermory, was celebrating Easter Sunday on April 16 of this year. He was drinking with a group of friends and drove someone else’s car home.

Witnesses phoned the police after he drove into a stone water fountain on Main Street, Tobermory, twice.
