A somewhat less harrowing tale involving seafood fuels this Dave The Diver spinoff prequel. An origin story for the titular cook, the game charts his travels across Asia to learn his trade. Aiming to impress master chefs in each region, you may have to wash pots as well as chop, baste and fry, but the game will serve up a smörgåsbord of catering skills, from restaurant management to menu design and catching your own fish. Billed as a “cooking simulation with light RPG progression”, you’ll get to explore and help out the locals as well as partake in culinary minigames, filling in Bancho’s intriguing backstory on the way. The ingredients look fresh – here’s hoping for a balanced dish.
