Larry Kuperman
After 25 years in the industry and thousands of meetings, Nightdive Studios’ ‘I know a guy’ guy isn’t finished yet
While it’s separated into three parts, for all intents and purposes Larry Kuperman’s YouTube channel is home to precisely one video: an outdoor performance of Much Ado About Nothing, filmed in 2003. Kuperman takes the role of Leonato, father to the betrothed Hero, and although the period costume and hazy 480p resolution leave him partially obscured, for many people who’ve worked in, reported on or read about videogames in the past decade, the man is still immediately recognisable. From 2014 to 2026, his official role at Nightdive Studios was that of business development director, helping the remaster specialist secure the rights to System Shock, Sin, Shadow Man and many more vintage releases. Beyond his job description, however, Kuperman earned an affectionate renown as the studio’s ever-candid unofficial spokesperson, appearing at shows such as GDC and Gamescom alongside co-founder Stephen Kick.
