MUSIC ON VINYL
Measuring up to the musical talent behind Mister Rogers’ Neighbourhood must have seemed like a Herculean task to composer Nate Heller, but he’s risen to the occasion with all the effortless charm in the world. Seamlessly blending the work of the show’s original musical director, Johnny Costa, as interpolations throughout the soft score, Heller manages to honour the gentle American jazz the show was famed for while crafting new and delightful piano melodies that twinkle like Tom Hanks’ eyes. Sprinkle in some acoustic offerings from Nick Drake and Cat Stevens for the sorrowful hero’s journey scenes of the biopic and you’ve got yourself a winner.
